We’re thrilled to share that Acti-Kare Responsive In-Home Care has been named the 2026 Gold Best Home Care winner in Best in the PNW.
This is the second year in a row Acti-Kare has been recognized in the Home Care category. We received Silver in 2025 and Gold this year, and we are especially grateful because this recognition comes from the community we serve.

For us, the best part of the recognition is what sits behind it: our caregivers, our clients and families, and the relationships our team has built throughout King, Snohomish and Pierce counties.
This Really Belongs to Our Caregivers

Those things are easy to overlook from the outside, but they are a huge part of good home care. We are fortunate to have a large team of caregivers serving families throughout our region, and we are very proud of the work they do. This award belongs to them.
What Good Home Care Looks Like to Us
Most families do not start looking for home care at an easy time. A parent may be coming home from the hospital. Someone’s dementia may be progressing. A spouse who has been providing care alone may realize they need help. An adult child may be trying to coordinate care for a parent while living hours or states away.
That is why we have always believed home care has to be personal. Our job is not simply to fill a shift. We need to understand what is happening in the home, what matters to the person receiving care, what the family is worried about, and what kind of caregiver is likely to be the right fit.
Sometimes that means finding someone experienced with dementia care. Sometimes it means helping a Veteran use authorized home care benefits. Sometimes a family needs help following a hospitalization or surgery. In other situations, the biggest need may simply be having a dependable caregiver there so a spouse or adult child can take a break. Every family is different, and the care should reflect that.
Thank You to the Families Who Trust Us
Choosing a home care agency is a very personal decision. Families are inviting someone into a loved one’s home and trusting that person with parts of daily life that can be private and vulnerable. We understand how much trust that takes.
One of the greatest compliments we receive is when a client or family recommends Acti-Kare to someone else. To everyone who has welcomed one of our caregivers into your home, shared feedback with us, written a review, recommended us to another family or supported us during Best in the PNW voting, THANK YOU! We do not take that trust for granted.
Thank You to Our Community Partners
We are also grateful for the partners throughout the Puget Sound region who turn to Acti-Kare when a family needs additional support at home. We work with senior living communities, social workers, care managers, healthcare providers, hospice teams, elder-law professionals, Veterans’ resources and many others helping older adults and their families navigate care decisions.
When someone refers a family to us, they are putting their own relationship and reputation behind that recommendation. We appreciate that responsibility and the opportunity to work alongside so many good people in our community.
Best in the PNW Gold in 2026
We were proud to be named a 2025 Silver Best Home Care winner, and moving to Gold in 2026 makes this year especially meaningful.
Of course, the color of the award is not what keeps people doing this work. What matters are the thousands of hours of care behind it, the relationships caregivers build with clients and families, the difficult shifts people step up to cover, and the office team working behind the scenes to keep care running well. Home care requires patience, reliability, communication and a willingness to keep showing up for people. That is what we are celebrating.
